Pulsed Light Photorejuvenation
Pigment marks from age or too much sun?
Broken capillaries?
Photorejuvenation
is what you are looking for!
A clearer, more even skin is a younger looking skin. Photorejuvenation with pulsed light provides the non-invasive answer to many skin blemishes:
- Pigment marks caused by sun damage or age
- Freckles
- Broken capillaries (small red spider veins)
- Generalised redness
- Rosacea
This photofacial is the gentle answer to turning back the clock and correcting damage to skin on your face, neck chest, hands or arms. These are the areas most exposed to the elements - and to the view of others!
How does it work?
A:As with hair removal, the pulsed light targets the pigment in the brown or red area being treated. Pigmented lesions will darken initially and may form a crust but will fade within 10 to 14 days. Red areas and broken capillaries may blanch immediately or otherwise darken to a purple hue that also fades within 10 to 14 days.
Is it painful?
A:The pulsed light lamp is gently placed on your skin and the flash of light is activated. The light energy turns into heat energy as it encounters the offending pigments. Treatments are carried out utilising cooling packs to ensure minimal heating of the surrounding skin area so no more than an elastic band-type snapping should be felt.
Will I look unsightly after treatment?
A:The darkening of some blemishes has been described but these may be covered with camouflage make up if desired. Treatments can be geared to your needs - a slower progression with less obvious results or the maximum fluence for your skin type. Pulsed light is safe and quick with none of the down time that comes with more invasive treatments. You can be treated in your lunch break, have your usual coffee and sandwich and be back at work on time!
How many treatments will I need?
A:Anywhere between 2 to 6 treatments depending on the severity of the blemish and the effect you desire. You are able to decide on a treatment to treatment basis as to how long you wish to continue.
