Eyebrow Threading
Origins of eyebrow threading
Threading has been very popular in Indian, Arab and Persian cultures. Threading to some degree formed a “passage of rite” for example where Persian women would be threading when getting married as a symbol of entry into womanhood.
An overview of eyebrow threading or eyebrow shaping
Threading is the shortened term for eyebrow threading which uses a thin piece of double strand, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over areas such as the eyebrows, sides of the face, lip and chin. It effectively plucks at the hair level.
Threading has its advantages in that it can remove rows of hair at one time which results in a straighter line overall. Eyebrow threading is a depilation technique which is not just for the eyebrows. Threading can be used to remove other facial and body hair as well.
The technique can be used to raise the arch of the eyebrow, or add shape and definition to the brow which means you can achieve the look you want quickly with threading. Be sure to discuss options with your therapist as they are many and varied ! Repeat visits after three to four weeks are standard for eyebrow threading.
