Q: What is a French Manicure?

A: A traditional French Manicure is a nail style with a white polish that is applied to the free edge to make it look whiter than normal. Q: What do Artificial Nails include?

It is currently the most popular of artificial nails. Its origin is from the dental industry for teeth capping hence its strength!

Q: What is the difference between Acrylic Nail and Silk/Fiberglass Nail?

A: Silk/Fiberglass Nails are lighter and more natural looking, but do not adhere well especially if you wash your hands a lot. Acrylic Nails are much stronger, and you can do almost any kind of work. Q: What are Gel Nails?

A: Gel Nails are strong, durable artificial nails that are brushed on the nail plates like polish. Gel nails are ideal for those who want to wear shiny nails without a color polish.

Q: What are Clear Nails?

A: Clear Nails are a special kind of acrylic nail that, when completed, are crystal from top to bottom.

Q: What is a good length for artificial nails?

A: The safe and regular nail extension is no more than 1/3 the length of the nail bed. This length is good for the beginner. You should be very careful if your nails are longer than half of the nail bed as it may be dangerous.

Q: Can artificial nails cause mould or fungus?

A: No, they can't. However, mold and fungus can grow under the artificial nails that are lifting, cracking or breaking. Mould and fungus can also grow under natural nails due to lack of regular and professional nail care.

Q: What if I already have mould or fungus?

A: Varisi is an excellent product that can cure nail mould and fungus. You should seek the advice of your trustworthy nail tech, before purchasing these products though.

Q: What are the common nail shapes?

A: There are five common nail shapes:

Square: The free edge is straight across. This shape is strong because of its full width at the free edge. It may cause some scratches to the skin due to its sharp corners.
Round: The free edge is round and conforming to the fingertip. Male customers usually prefer this shape because of their natural round fingertip.
Oval: The free edge is oval. Most professional customers who have their hands on display choose this shape. It looks attractive.
Pointed: The top of the free edge is narrow and pointed. This shape is suited for thin hands with narrow nail beds. However, it is weak and may break easily.
Square-Round: This shape is a combination of square shape and round shape. The free edge is straight across with the corners rounded off. This shape is strong and suited for those who work with their hands. It looks young and is the most popular nail shape now.
