Not all of us are as lucky to have Angelina Jolie’s curves or Nicole Kidman’s boyish looks. If you’re like me who’s suffering a slight set-back because of winter, you’re likely to be struggling to get ready for the swimsuit season. If you’re still less than perfect by summer, here are some tips to flatter your figure when hitting the beach.
If you have a boyish shape, add the illusion of curves with underwire and padding at the top. Just make sure that the padding won’t show through once you hit the water though. Little details like ruffles or patterns at the top can also add a bit more to provide the bigger visual impact. For the larger bust woman, good support such as underwire or a built-in bra does wonders to prevent the sag. Stay away from bandeaus, keyholes, string bikinis and demi bras.
Camouflage those love handles and belly bulges by drawing the eye away from the area. Large patterns or criss cross patterns running across the mid section will do much to minimise the look. Draw the eyes to the top instead with a halter cut swimsuit with a plunging neckline.
Boy shorts tend to make legs look fatter and stockier so stay away from these. Solid colours will create the illusion of smaller thighs, whilst big and bold print tops balance off the look. A swimsuit with high leg cuts and empire neckline would do best to balance off the bottom heavy look.
