Pulsed Light Hair Removal is a proven technology that is safe, virtually painless and unlike many other methods of treatment, does not involve physical penetration of the skin. It therefore has none of the adverse side-effects associated with other techniques.
How does it work?
Pulsed Light treatments are the next generation in effective hair removal and skin rejuvenation technology. Traditionally most cosmetic procedures have been associated with lasers. As technology has progressed, research has shown that Pulsed Light regularly produces better results than lasers. Pulsed Light units are non-laser emitting light across a range of wavelengths that are preferentially absorbed by the appropriate structure in the skin is minimised.
Our machines are designed so each flash of light comprises a sequence of rapid pulses. These pulses ensure more controlled absorption whilst heating of the surrounding skin is minimised.
The Results
A great range of hair and skin types can be safely and effectively treated than was previously possible.
For hair removal, the melanin in the hair absorbs this light and is heated to a temperature that can permanently inhibit the hairs growth.
Are there any side effects?
Due to the special parameters used there are little or no side-effects. The treatment has been likened to being flicked by a hair brush. The skin may go slightly red for a few hours.
How many treatmets are required?
In most cases you will see a result after 3 treatments but there is significant improvement if the treatment is repeated at regular intervals. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can undergo. After treatment it will appear that the hair will continue to grow. What is actually happening is that the hair is still gripped by the skin and is slowly expelled from the follicle.
What about skin rejuvenation?
Various structures in the skin absorb Pulsed Light and this can improve the damage caused by ageing and the sun.
