What does a skin diagnosis involve?

Sure you can look in the mirror and guess based on feelings and/or what you see.

But how can you really tell what condition your skin is in?

Let’s get straight to the point – you need a Woods Lamp!

A Woods Lamp is a light which can detect bacterial and fungal skin infections. It can also detect pigment disorders and other irregularities in your skin like dry skin/oily skin and combination skin where applicable.

Generally it is a small hand held device that uses ultraviolet light to illuminate areas that are otherwise difficult to see. The light is held over your face in a dark room and any abnormalities will fluoresce or change colour, under the light.

But where do you go to get a skin diagnosis?

Reputable beauty salons have a Woods Lamp as part of their “tools”. The therapist will look at your skin and then provide a diagram which shows each of the areas and subsequent condition of your face/skin.

The only thing you need to do is avoid washing your face before you have a Woods Lamp diagnosis and avoid using make up and perfumes that may affect the test results.

It is also very important to keep your eyes closed at all times whilst the lamp is in use.

So what are you waiting for?

Now you can tell the condition your skin is in, accurately.

Ask for it by name – a Woods Lamp.
