How does the Needle Free Double Operator Children’s Piercing work?
During the Double Operator Children’s Ear-Piercing procedure, we pierce both of your child’s ears at the same time using two Piercing Specialists using our Needle Free Push Through Sterilear System.

How does the Double Operator Children’s Needle Piercing Work?
This method involves a sterilised, single-use needle to create a clean, precise hole in the ear. A small plastic sheath is left in place temporarily, allowing the jewellery to be carefully inserted through the new piercing. The double operator method is done with both ears being pierced simultaneously by two trained professionals.

For babies and young children, sitting still for long periods can be challenging. The double operator approach solves this by piercing both ears at the same time, making the experience quicker, smoother.
The Benefits of Needle Piercing for Children
Needle piercings offer several advantages that are particularly helpful for parents:
- Jewellery Options: With needle piercing, you have the option to start with a ring or a labret instead of a butterfly back. Rings and studs with a flat back are comfortable for small children
- Easier Cleaning: Parents often find it difficult to clean around the large butterfly backings of traditional studs. With a ring, it’s easier to access the piercing site from all angles.
- Comfort for Sleeping: Unlike traditional studs, rings don’t have protruding backs that can press into the head during sleep, making them a more comfortable choice for babies and toddlers.
Before your appointment:
Before your appointment, we recommend having a rough idea about the colour of the jewellery your child may want for their first piercing. The most popular crystals colours for the Needle Free method are Aquamarine (light blue), crystal (clear) and Amethyst (purple). We also have a wide range of colours and styles; the full selection may vary from salon to salon.
For the Needle Method we have a variety of labrets included in the piercing service that include surgical steel, PVD Gold, PVD black and PVD Rose Gold. If your little one is wanting to upgrade and be pierced with a hinge ring, we have a variety to choose from in salon.
If you wish to double check with your local salon before arriving, we highly recommend giving them a call!
Many parents bring along their child’s favourite toy, treat or another item to keep their child happy and distracted during the service. Others promise their child a reward afterwards such as an ice cream! Remember though, with every Children’s Ear-Piercing service you will receive our famous Teddy the Comfort Bear to keep your little one company.
When you arrive for your appointment, there is some paperwork to fill out and you will be asked to present valid identification.
You will then select the jewellery and head into the private piercing room.
During the procedure:
Your child will be given their own Teddy the Comfort Bear and Backpack to keep them feeling happy and content throughout their appointment.
Your Piercer will place dots on your child’s ears so that you can agree on the location of the ear piercing. Both piercers will then pierce both child’s ears simultaneously.
Once the procedure is complete, all you will need to do is pay for the appointment and listen to your Piercer explain Essential Beauty’s aftercare instructions. We recommend purchasing both our Sterilear Aftercare Spray range to promote healing of your piercing.
