The process is different from traditional tattooing using machine operated needles, as the procedure is less invasive. This means pigment is only implanted approximately 0.5 – 0.8mm deep into the skin. This is why it is considered a ‘semi-permanent’ treatment, which will fade gradually into lighter shades of the original colour over time.
