Threading

Threading starts with a simple cotton thread, but it can take years to master! Threading is available at Essential Beauty salons where a Beauty Therapist is also an experienced, highly skilled threader. We combine our eyebrow threading service with our 4-Zone Brow Consultation to help you achieve the right brow shape for you!

What is threading?

Brow and face threading involves doubling and twisting of a thin cotton thread, then rolling the thread over the unwanted hairs. The friction of the twisted thread pulls the hair out at the root. This is a quick and effective form of plucking.

Threading works on flat areas of the skin such as the face and eyebrows, so threading will never replace waxing for areas such as the bikini!

4-Zone Brow Consultation

When you have shapely, well-groomed brows that suit your face, your features appear balanced and your eyes pop!

At Essential Beauty we help you create symmetry and achieve brows that suit your face with eyebrow waxing or threading. Essential Beauty’s unique service includes our 4-Zone Brow Consultation where your Beauty Therapist will look at the Head of the Brow, Outer Arch, Inner Arch and Tail. They will check the symmetry of all 4 zones and make recommendations to create the perfect brows for your bone structure, muscle tone and personal preference.

To achieve your best shape and create more symmetry, your Beauty Therapist will work with you, looking at the 4 Zones to determine where you need to grow more hair (or remove hair) to define your shape, and where to fill using a brow pencil or powder.

Achieve your best brows with tinting

Brow tinting can also help achieve better brow definition and fullness. Your brow tint will attach to the fine vellus hairs and lighter hairs in the brow, creating full-looking, bold brows, and will help disguise any gaps in the brow.

Henna brow tinting is also an option. Natural henna brow colour is a form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area, visually filling in any sparseness. Henna can last anywhere from four days to three weeks on the skin. The length of time henna tinting lasts differs from person to person, and is dependent on how your skin reacts to the dye.

Henna works by coating the hairs, creating the look of thicker hair, whereas traditional tint makes the hair darker by breaking down the hair and penetrating colour in the hair follicles. Henna is an excellent option for over-plucked or sparse brows or for anyone wanting full and even brows as it temporarily stains the skin underneath the brow.

What are the benefits of threading?

Threading is especially popular for brow shaping. The main benefit of brow threading is that it’s extremely precise, as your Beauty Therapist can remove a line of hairs or even one single hair at a time to achieve your desired shape!

Should I tint my eyebrows if my hairs are already dark?

To achieve the brows of your dreams, we recommend adding a tint to your brow wax service. Tinting can help improve the shape and arch of the eyebrows. The top of the arch can be lifted by tinting the lighter hairs at the top of the brows. The tail of your brows can also be better defined and lengthened, giving an overall better shape. Once the eyebrows are tinted, the very fine lighter hairs show up. This gives the whole eyebrow a fuller look, achieving the brows of your dreams!

How long does lash and brow tinting last?

Eyebrow tinting lasts 2-3 weeks depending on the colour used. Darker colour tints generally last longer. Your tint will fade away naturally until you get your next tint. Lash tinting can last up to 4 weeks and is a great alternative to mascara.

Tinting can add definition, fullness, and save you time each morning. Don’t hesitate, ask your Beauty Therapist about adding a tint to your next appointment.
