Waxing Aftercare

Preparing for your wax is important and made easy with Essential Beauty & Piercing. Before your appointment prepare with the following:

• Ensure hair is roughly 1/2 a centimeter long (about the length of a grain of rice)
• Exfoliate using Prep, 24-48 hours prior to your waxing session to eliminate any dead skin
• Leading up to your waxing session you should moisturise with Nourish each day to keep hair soft, prevent breakage and encourage easier hair removal

Things to note:

• We recommend avoiding exfoliating your skin any closer than 24 hours to your appointment as it may lead to irritation
• Do not apply moisturiser on the day of your appointment as this may interfere with the wax

On the day of your appointment, it is important to ensure your skin is ready for waxing:

• We recommend showering or cleansing skin before your appointment to be fresh and clean prior to your service
• Please do not apply any moisturiser to your skin & ensure your skin is free of any perfumes, lotions or oils as they can interfere with your results
• Do not exfoliate any closer than 24 hours before your appointment
• Wear loose clothing to your appointment, and avoid tight clothes immediately after your wax

After your wax-appointment, skin may be slightly red and irritated, but don’t fret! Your skin will be feeling silky smooth in next to no time. See our top tips for that post-appointment glow below:

• Avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming, strenuous exercise, or lying in the sun for the first 24 hours
• Stay in loose, comfortable clothing for the rest of the day after waxing to avoid any irritation caused by rubbing

Exfoliate, detoxify, and hydrate with Prep! Our unique blend of kaolin and bentonite clay facilitates detoxification to buff away dead skin while nourishing your skin with shea butter and jojoba oil to repair and hydrate the skin. Prep can be used to prepare skin for your wax, use in-between appointments, smooth ingrown hairs, and get your skin ready for tanning each week!

Nourish – Body Moisturiser with Hair Growth Minimiser:
Deeply hydrate and replenish skin with Nourish Body Moisturiser & Hair Growth Minimiser. Nourish is the perfect product to hydrate your body 1-2 days after waxing. We recommend keeping a regular moisturising routine to get the most out of your wax. Moisturising your skin will prevent hairs from snapping and keep your skin nourished and fresh. Continued use of Nourish after waxing services will gradually refine the density of hairs. Soothe – Hydrating & Cooling Serum:
